Exploring embodiment from a coral’s perspective: forthcoming workshop at Piksel Festival, Bergen

Most of the world’s life lives beneath the waves, yet we only just scratch the surface with our understanding.

I’m collaborating with 3 wonderful practitioners on the Pikslo workshop for Piksel Festival 2015 to take a deep dive into the Nordic waters.

With Robertina Šebjanič, Slavko Glamočanin and Gjino Šutić, we’ll be exploring DIY biology, DIY chemistry and sound, looking at what life is like underneath the surface of Bergen’s fjord. We’ll be working towards creative outputs, and I’ll be focussing on translating the perception of Norway’s corals to a human embodied form, in an exercise that should galvanise a critical design process for environmental stewardship.
